Julien Baril
Julien Baril is a managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business in London.
Mr. Baril joined Evercore upon the establishment of its European investment banking business and has over 15 years’ experience advising on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He has particular expertise in public takeovers and raid defence and has advised on a broad range of transactions across industries as well as in the listed investment trust space.
Mr. Baril’s transaction experience includes advising Benchmark Holdings on its strategic review; Ted Baker on its sale to Authentic Brands Group; John Laing Group on its sale to KKR; JPMorgan Infrastructure on its acquisition of Falck Renewables; Shaftesbury on its all-share merger with Capital & Counties; Nestlé on the sale of its skin health business (Galderma) to EQT; Shire on its acquisition of Baxalta and the takeover offer from AbbVie; PIF on its investment in AccorInvest; Phaunos Timber Fund on its hostile takeover from Stafford Capital; and Guoco Group on its hostile takeover of Rank Group.
Mr. Baril holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Master in Banking, Finance and Insurance from University Paris Dauphine.
