Jonathon Kaufman

Jonathon Kaufman is a senior managing director in Evercore’s Infrastructure and Energy Transition group. He leads the firm’s efforts across utilities and renewables in New York.

Over his more than 20-year career, Mr. Kaufman has advised on M&A and capital markets across renewables, energy transition, conventional power and utility transactions for corporate, private equity and infrastructure funds. He has experience in key energy transition areas, such as wind, solar, battery storage, waste to energy, EV charging, retail energy and energy efficiency.

Recent transactions include acting as lead advisor to Calpine on its sale to Constellation; sole advisor to Riverstone in the minority stake sale in Pattern Energy to APG and ART; joint advisor to Avenue & Nuveen in the minority stake sale of Vistra Vision; sole advisor to Platinum Equity on the sale of the Hunterstown power facility to LS Power; joint advisor to NRG in the defense against Elliott Management; lead advisor to DSD Renewables on the strategic investment from Cox Enterprises; and sole advisor to Talen Energy on its restructuring and Go-Shop.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Kaufman was the global co-head of the energy and infrastructure group at Credit Suisse, where he’d previously served as global head of the infrastructure, utilities and renewables group. Earlier in his career, he was a managing director at Deutsche Bank.
