Stuart Britton
Stuart Britton is a senior managing director in Evercore’s financial institutions group and has extensive experience advising on M&A and corporate finance.
Mr. Britton has advised on a wide range of M&A and capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on insurance distribution and underwriting. Notable deals include the majority investment in Alacrity by BlackRock; IPO of Corebridge; strategic investment in AmeriLife by Genstar; sale of LTCG to illumifin; sale of Volante to Acrisure; Aspen Insurance Holding’s loss portfolio transfer to Enstar Group; sale of Wellington to Truist; sale of Velocity to Oaktree; sale of SUNZ Holdings’ fee-for-service businesses to Acrisure; and the sale of a stake in CFC to EQT.
Mr. Britton was a co-founder, partner and managing director of Lexicon Partners, the corporate finance advisory business acquired by Evercore in 2011. He led Lexicon’s financial institutions group in New York, having relocated from London to lead the establishment of Lexicon’s U.S. business in 2008.
Prior to founding Lexicon in 2000, Mr. Britton worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he specialized in M&A in the financial institutions sector. Previously, he was at The Phoenix Partnership, a corporate advisory and private equity business acquired by DLJ.
He has a degree in Law (B.C.L.) from University College Cork, Ireland.
