Steve Sakwa
Steve Sakwa is a senior managing director and a senior equity research analyst covering REITs.
He has been an Institutional Investor (now Extel)-recognized REIT analyst for the past 16 years, consistently ranking No. 1 or No. 2 in his field, including top-spot recognition since 2022.
Prior to joining Evercore ISI, Mr. Sakwa was a managing director and lead equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch covering the U.S. REIT sector as well as serving as global property coordinator, a position in which he oversaw analysts in 10 different regions spanning more than 200 stocks. He also was a research analyst with Morgan Stanley, following the REIT sector. Mr. Sakwa began his career at the May Co. in the buyer training program.
Mr. Sakwa earned his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and his B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan.
