James Swindell

Managing Director

Jim Swindell is a Managing Director and has distribution responsibilities for institutional relationships within the Midwest and Canada for the firm's Private Funds Group.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Swindell was a Managing Director with Knight Capital Partners, a boutique placement agent. In this role he was responsible for sourcing and marketing third party private equity and alternative fund managers to institutional clients, including public and private pensions, insurance companies, banks, fund of funds and consultants. Mr. Swindell’s experience in private equity began in 2000, when he joined the Lehman Brothers Private Fund Marketing Group, where he helped source and raise capital for all of Lehman's proprietary private equity strategies, as well as for select third party managers. Mr. Swindell has raised capital for a wide breadth of alternatives strategies, including real estate, venture capital, buyout, distressed, mezzanine, secondary and fund of funds.

Mr. Swindell received his BA in History from Denison University.
