Dave Blackwood is a Senior Advisor of the firm’s corporate advisory business, and has 37 years’ experience in the energy sector.
Mr. Blackwood was previously a Senior Advisor at Lexicon, and prior to that in March 2010 he was at BP, culminating in his role as head of its North Sea business based in Aberdeen, but including stints for BP in Alaska and Houston as well as world-wide Technology Vice President for Projects and Engineering. In addition Dave was the first joint chairman of Oil & Gas UK which was formed to represent both operators and contractors within the UK’s oil and gas industry. Dave was also a member of the PILOT Taskforce working with government to sustain a competitive UK Oil & Gas industry and, in 2006, was awarded a CBE for services to the oil and gas industry. Since leaving BP in January 2009, in addition to his Senior Advisor role with Lexicon Partners, Dave has taken on non-executive director positions with Valiant Petroleum Plc and with Expro AX-S Technology Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Expro Group) and he is also on the board of ACSEF (Aberdeen City & Shire Economic Future).
Dave has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Glasgow University.
