Senior Managing Director
Dimitrios Georgiou is a Senior Managing Director of Evercore Partners based in London with 27 years of corporate finance experience. He leads Evercore’s Industrials and Services franchise in Europe.
Mr. Georgiou joined Evercore from RBC, where he was a Managing Director in London, having been hired in 2014 to lead and build their Industrials and Services franchise in Europe. Mr. Georgiou had previously spent 14 years at Citigroup, during which time he was Co-Head of European Industrials and Global Head of Services. Before his career in investment banking, Mr. Georgiou spent 8 years at Arthur Andersen working in their audit, business restructuring / insolvency and consulting divisions. Mr. Georgiou covers clients in the Capital Goods, Building Products, Construction and Services sectors. He has advised on a number of notable transactions including Danfoss’ acquisition of Sauer Danfoss, the sale of Skoda Power, the acquisition of Wood Group’s Well Support division by GE, the sale of Polypipe by IMI, the sale of Balfour Beatty UK FM, the sale of Befesa by Abengoa, the public offer for Inspicio plc, the sale of Applus by Aguas de Barcelona, the public takeover of Wavin by Mexichem, the sale of Fairclough Homes and Spie by AMEC, two corporate defences of Hochtief and the creation of Hochtief Airport Capital, the sale of Skanska Services, the IPO of Cintra, the IPO of Damac, the pubic takeover of Westbury by Persimmon, the restructuring of Gladedale Holdings for HBOS, the acquisition of McAlpine Homes by Taylor Wimpey as well as the LBOs of Bravida, Bodycote Testing, Pronet, ISS, Securitas Direct, Grohe, Icopal, Swissport and Algeco Scotsman.
Mr. Georgiou graduated from The University of Glasgow in 1989 with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Accountancy, as well being jointly awarded the Arthur Young Medal for most distinguished student. He was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and remains a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
