Stephen CuUnjieng

Senior Managing Director

Stephen CuUnjieng is a Senior Managing Director of the firm's corporate advisory business and is Chairman of Evercore Asia Limited.

Mr. CuUnjieng has been in the industry since 1986 including, prior to Evercore, five years at Macquarie Capital Advisers in Hong Kong where his most recent position was Vice Chairman, ASEAN. Prior to that he held Managing Director or Director positions in Asia for Merrill Lynch, Salomon Brothers and Morgan Grenfell.

Some of his recent and more significant transactions include advising Atlas Consolidated Mining (Philippines) on a series of transactions the last of which was awarded Philippine Deal of the Year by Finance Asia for 2011; advised Puregold Price Club Inc. (Philippines) on its initial public offering which was awarded best Mid Cap Equity Deal for Asia by Finance Asia for 2011; Indorama Ventures (Thailand) USD 795mm purchase of chemicals business of Old World Chemicals (USA); Indophil Resources NL (Australia) on the placement agreement with Alsons Power Holdings; Guoco Group (Hong Kong) on its takeover of Rank Group (UK); San Miguel Corporation on its investment in the holding companies of Philippine Air Lines and Air Philippines; and First Philippine Holdings Corporation on its sale of a strategic stake in Manila Electric Company.

Mr. CuUnjieng received his A.B. and Ll.B. (J.D. equivalent) from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
