Ollie Clayton is a Managing Director of Evercore’s corporate advisory business, specialising in financial services, based in London.
Mr. Clayton has advised on a broad range of transactions in the financial services industry including in the asset management, life assurance, brokerage, exchange, bank and building society sectors. Prior to Evercore, Mr. Clayton was a Managing Director of Lexicon Partners which he joined in 2000. Prior to Lexicon Partners, Mr. Clayton worked in the financial institutions group at Schroders and Citigroup.
Recent transactions on which Mr. Clayton has advised include the sale of Old Mutual’s Nordic business (£2.1 billion), Prudential on the acquisition of SRLC America from Swiss Re ($621 million), the sale of JO Hambro Capital Management to BT Investment Management (£210 million), the merger of Chi-X Europe and BATS Global Markets, the IPO of Hargreaves Lansdown (£760 million), ICAP on the acquisition of EBS ($775 million) and Prudential on its defence from Aviva (£36 billion). In the banking and building society sectors, Mr. Clayton has advised Yorkshire Building Society on its merger with Norwich & Peterborough, Stroud & Swindon Building Society on its merger with Coventry, Chelsea Building Society on its merger with Yorkshire, Newcastle Building Society on a capital restructuring, West Bromwich Building Society on the conversion of its sub-ordinated debt into PPDS (£182 million) and Prudential on the sale of Egg to Citigroup (£525 million). In addition, Mr Clayton has advised on a wide range of UK and international transactions including mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt capital markets fundraising.
Mr. Clayton has a first class degree in History from Cambridge University.
