Stephen Schaible
Senior Advisor
Stephen Schaible is a Senior Advisor of the firm's corporate advisory business.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Schaible was a Managing Director and head of Global Energy Investment Banking at Citigroup. Previously, he was Citigroup's head of Global Chemicals Investment Banking. Prior to joining Citigroup in early 2001, Mr. Schaible was a Managing Director at J. P. Morgan & Co., where he worked in New York, Tokyo and London, in both mergers and acquisitions and industry coverage roles. Mr. Schaible was also head of Chemicals Investment Banking while at J.P. Morgan & Co.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Schaible has advised many clients in the energy, chemicals, industrial and pharmaceutical industries, including Lubrizol in its sale to Berkshire Hathaway; Swiss Re in the sale of CHF 3 billion of preferred shares to Berkshire Hathaway; LyondellBasell in its successful Chapter 11 reorganization and restructuring; ConocoPhillips in its acquisition of Burlington Resources; Lyondell Chemical Company in its acquisitions of ARCO Chemical Company and Millennium Petrochemicals; Lubrizol in its acquisition of Noveon International; Crompton Corporation in its acquisition of Great Lakes Chemical Corporation; Dow Chemical in the creation of global joint ventures with Kuwait Petroleum; and Hoechst in the divestiture of its specialty chemicals business to Clariant.
Mr. Schaible is a 1981 graduate of Princeton University.
